Foam flower plants should be watered regularly but lightly. They need about 1 inch of water per week, and should be watered deeply rather than intermittently. Watering should be done in the morning so that the plant has time to dry out before evening. If you live in a hot climate, you may need to water the plant more frequently, at least twice a week. Otherwise, it is best to stick with once a week. If the soil starts to feel dry, or the leaves start to droop, give your foam flower an extra drink. It's important not to overwater the foam flower, which can cause fungal diseases to develop.

Foam flower, also known as Tiarella 'Sunset Ridge', is a shade-loving perennial plant that thrives in well-shaded areas with bright morning sun. Depending on location and season, it can tolerate up to 4 hours of direct sunlight per day. While more sun can help the plant bloom better, too much sun can cause the foliage to burn and cause serious injury to the plant. Ideally, the foam flower should receive early morning sun and should be shaded in the afternoons.

Foam flower (Tiarella 'Sunset Ridge') should be pruned lightly each year in late winter (late February to early March), before the new leaves appear. This pruning should be done primarily to remove any dead or damaged stems. If the plant is leggy or overgrown, the stems can be cut back lightly by about a third or half of their length so that the clump appears more compact and to encourage the growth of bushier foliage.
