In general, the California Sagebrush does best when watered deeply every 2 to 3 weeks in spring and summer, and once a month during fall and winter. During periods of extreme heat, this plant may require a little more water and extra watering may be necessary. Watering should not be done too frequently; it is better to water deeply and less often. Over-watering can lead to root rot, so it is important to ensure that the soil and roots are given a chance to dry out between waterings.
