Additionally, too much sun can cause the leaves to wilt, yellow or brown. Due to its need for partial shade, Hosta sieboldii 'Kabitan' should be planted in an area protected from strong winds, which can cause wilting.

When it comes to pruning Hosta sieboldii 'Kabitan', it's best to wait until the foliage begins to fade in mid-fall. At this point, simply remove the foliage, cutting it back to a few inches above the crown of the plant. In doing so, you'll provide your plant with better air circulation and more room for new growth in the spring. You can also lightly trim any remaining stems to encourage branching.
