watering

Water Hosta 'White Feather' when the top inch or 2 of soil dries out. This plant likes to be consistently moist, but not soggy, so adjust water accordingly. Aim to provide around 1 inch of water per week, either from rainfall or from watering. Water when needed during dry spells during its active growing season (usually late spring through early fall). In the fall, start cutting back on watering, and stop watering altogether in winter when the plant is dormant.

sunlight

Hosta 'White Feather' requires moderate amounts light. When kept indoors, it should be placed near bright, indirect light for at least 4 hours daily for best results. If placed outdoors, this plant species prefers partial shade. It is best to provide diffuse light instead of direct light for longer periods of time. Too much direct light can blister and burn the foliage. On the other hand, lack of light can cause the foliage to pale and turn yellow.

pruning

Hosta 'White Feather' should be pruned once a year in the early spring before the new season of growth. Cut off any dead or damaged foliage and remove any spent flower heads, or divide and replant the clumps if desired. Prune the foliage to about 1-third its size, cutting it back to the base stem and encouraging the new shoots to form. Doing this will encourge mental and leave room for the nice foliage that White Feather will produce.
