watering

Spider lilies should be watered moderately but regularly during their growing season, which typically begins in late spring or early summer and ends in early fall. Water the plant deeply once a week, making sure the entire root system is soaked. During hot weather, water more frequently and mist the foliage once or twice a week to help with transpiration. Reduce frequency of watering in the winter when growth slows, only applying enough water to keep the soil slightly moist.

sunlight

Spider lilies prefer full sun to partial shade, and should receive at least 4-6 hours of direct sunlight each day. During particularly hot periods in summer, it is important to provide some shade during the afternoon to prevent sunburn. When planted in full sun, it is especially important to keep the soil consistently moist to help it withstand the intense rays. When planted in partial shade, it may be able to handle shorter periods of direct sun and may require less frequent watering.

pruning

Spider lilies should be pruned in late autumn or early spring. It is best to remove only the dead leaves and flowers and avoid pruning off any green growth since they are easily damaged and slow to regenerate. For those spider lilies that have become unruly, you can prune back any dead clumps or stems to the base. It is not recommended to do a major pruning on these plants.
