Chinese juniper

Chinese juniper (Juniperus pfitzeriana 'Old Gold') should be watered when the top few inches of soil in the pot feels dry to the touch. A good amount to water would be 3-4 cups of water, enough to moisten the soil to a depth of 6-8 inches. Watering should be done in the morning so the plant has a chance to dry before nightfall. You should avoid over-saturating the soil. So if the soil does not dry out quickly, you should cut back on watering. Chinese junipers prefer moist but not wet soil.

During the pruning, overall size should be regulated by heading back new shoots and removing the tops of auxiliary shoots. Additionally, any dead or diseased branches should be removed.
