Water the plant deeply so that excess moisture can drain away from the roots. Make sure the soil has completely drained before placing the container back on its saucer. During the winter months, you can reduce watering to once a month, only if the soil is dry. Make sure they are in a bright, sunny location and keep in mind that although this species is drought tolerant, it still needs to be watered regularly.

It should have at least 4 hours of direct sunlight per day, ideally 8-10 hours with some morning sun and afternoon shade. This species, however, can tolerate less hours of sunlight when established. Additionally, since it is a canopy plant, high winds should be avoided as they can cause permanent stress to the plant.
