watering
For a healthy growth of Asiatic lilies, in a container, it is best to water them moderately but regularly. On average, water the plants once every 5-7 days, making sure the top 2-3 inches of soil is always moist. During warm, dry weather, it might even be necessary to water them every 3-4 days. Make sure not to over water and let the soil dry between watering sessions. Also, increase the frequency of watering in extreme weather conditions. Additionally, regularly mist them to boost the humidity in the environment and make sure to feed them with a balanced liquid fertilizer once a month.
sunlight
Asiatic lilies prefer full sunlight for at least 6 hours per day. If grown in hot areas, they should have some shade during the hottest part of the afternoon sun. When grown indoors, place in the brightest room and use a grow light for 12-14 hours a day to adequately mimic the outdoor environment.
pruning
Asiatic lilies (Lilium 'Brunello') should be pruned twice during the growing season – once in June and once in August. In June, the foliage and stems should be pruned back to about 6-8 inches. In August, deadhead the spent flowers and seed pods. This will also help to stimulate new growth. The stalks can be trimmed back to desired height to encourage bushier growth. Make sure that the pruning shears are sterilized with rubbing alcohol or a household disinfectant between uses. This will help to prevent spreading disease.
