Eulalia (Miscanthus sinensis var. condensatus 'Cabaret') should be watered once a week, with approximately 2 inches of water every time. Watering frequency may be reduced to once every 2 weeks during cooler months. The soil should be allowed to dry out slightly between waterings, to prevent overwatering and root rot. When watering, take care not to wet the foliage as this can cause it to become susceptible to disease. In areas that experience frequent rain, additional watering may not be necessary. Eulalia should be fertilized in spring and summer with a balanced 10-10-10 fertilizer. In autumn, use a fertilizer with higher levels of phosphorus.

Eulalia (Miscanthus sinensis var. condensatus 'Cabaret') is best grown in full sun (at least 8 hours of direct sunlight each day). It can grow in partial shade, but flowering is usually reduced under these conditions. The plant may even become etiolated (elongated and thin) with too little light. In regions with hot summers, some afternoon shade may be beneficial to prevent leaf burn.

Before pruning, remove any dead or damaged foliage, then use sharp pruning shears to cut flower stalks down to the crown of foliage at the base of the plant, cutting the foliage back by about 1-third to 1-half of its existing height. Pruning the foliage helps to promote a fuller, more lush look and encourage new growth for the upcoming season.
