Lungwort (Pulmonaria 'Cotton Cool') should be watered regularly and evenly. It prefers moist soil throughout the growing season, so it’s best to water this plant every 7-10 days. During dry spells, provide supplemental water in order to keep the soil consistently moist. Make sure the soil isn't waterlogged, but that the soil between the roots is still damp. Check the plant’s soil weekly, and water as needed when it begins to dry out. The amount of water required will depend on the type of soil, temperature, and humidity. To ensure that the roots are getting enough water, drench the soil at the base of the plant and allow it to soak in.

Lungwort (Pulmonaria 'Cotton Cool') does best in partial shade and prefers morning sunlight rather than afternoon sun. When grown outdoors, it is recommended that the plant receive 4 to 6 hours of direct sunlight each day, preferring 2 to 4 hours of morning sun with bright, indirect light during the remainder of the day. It can also do well in full shade, but its flowering may not be as strong as when grown in partial shade.

Lungwort (Pulmonaria 'Cotton Cool') is best pruned in early spring, once the final danger of frost has passed. During this time, remove any dead foliage and remove any weak stems back to the ground. Then, if you would like to shape the plant, remove a small amount of the top growth. This will help encourage full, bushy growth. It's also a good time to divide any overcrowded plants, or to move them to a new location. Be sure to water the plant thoroughly after the pruning.
