When watering, water at the base of the plant and ensure that the water penetrates down to the root system. Mulch can also help retain moisture in the soil. Monitor the soil on a regular basis and adjust the watering schedule if the soil is too dry or too wet. Additionally, in hot, dry, and sunny periods of weather, increase watering of the plant species as needed.
