watering

Water Spirea 'Darsnorm' SNOW STORM deeply and evenly as often as needed to keep the soil consistently moist, but not soggy. During the growing season, water it regularly, about once a week in the absence of rain. During dry or hot weather, you may have to water more frequently, especially if the plant is in a sunny, exposed location. A good soaking every 7-10 days should be sufficient. Don't water too often, as this can lead to root rot. In the winter months, you should reduce the frequency of watering, allowing the soil to almost (but not completely) dry before re-watering.

sunlight

Spirea (Spiraea 'Darsnorm' SNOW STORM) should receive 5 to 6 hours of full sun for optimal growth. The sun should be brightest during mid-morning and early afternoon. If possible, place the plant in a partially shaded area that receives dappled sunlight during the hottest part of the day in order to protect it from sunburn and other heat-related stress. This species is also tolerant of light shade. Too little sunlight can lead to less dense and compact foliage, as well as reduced flowering.

pruning

Spirea 'Darsnorm' SNOW STORM should be pruned in late winter or very early spring. Prune it by removing about 1/3 of the old stems near the base of the plant. This will stimulate more vigorous growth and encourage the shrub to produce larger blooms in the summer. If pruning is done in late winter or spring, do not wait too late in the season, as pruning after bloom can significantly reduce the flowering next season.
