watering

Tiarella 'Pink Skyrocket' is a hardy, resilient plant species that requires relatively little attention. Watering should depend on the soil and climate, but generally the foam flower should be watered about once a week. If the soil is dry to the touch about an inch below the surface, it's time to water. This is especially important in warmer seasons when the plant is actively growing. In cooler seasons it is best to water less often - approximately every 2 weeks. If you water too much, it can cause fungal issues, so make sure you are not overdoing it.

sunlight

Foam flower (Tiarella 'Pink Skyrocket') requires 3-4 hours of direct sunlight each day, ideally in the morning and early afternoon hours. This will ensure that the plant is receiving the sunlight it needs to generate strong and vibrant blooms. The sun in the late afternoon and early evening is much too strong and can cause the foliage to become too dry and brittle. Too much direct sunlight can also cause the plant to become overly stressed, causing the blooms to become wilted and can even cause them to brown and die back prematurely. If gardening in an area where the direct sunlight is limited, supplementing with artificial grow lights may be necessary. Shade loving varieties of foam flower prefer diffused or filtered light during the day.

pruning

Foam Flower should be pruned in early spring, just as new growth begins to emerge. The best way to prune is to selectively cut back all stems to a height of 6 to 8 inches. This will stimulate branching, producing a well-rounded and full plant. Additionally, remove any dead, diseased, or damaged stems. Pruning too frequently or heavily can result in a lack of flowering, so pruning should be done judiciously.
