watering

Triteleia 'Rudy' should be watered deeply once a week during its growing season from late spring to early fall. The soil should be completely soaked, allowing water to run out the bottom of the pot. During the winter months, only water when the soil begins to dry out. Avoid overwatering, as this can cause root rot and other soil-borne diseases.

sunlight

Triteleia 'Rudy' is a striking plant species that requires ample sunlight to thrive. It should be placed in full sun to light shade for at least 6 to 8 hours a day, generally from mid-morning to early afternoon. While it can tolerate some cooler temperatures in late winter and early spring, it prefers heat and should be kept out of strong winds which could damage its foliage. During periods of extreme heat or cold, Triteleia 'Rudy' should be moved to a sheltered spot with reduced sun exposure. It is not frost tolerant and should be kept inside, away from cold temperatures, during winter months.

pruning

Triteleia 'Rudy' can be pruned anytime between early spring and mid-summer. Depending on the size of the plant, 1 to 2 light prunings can be done annually. Generally, a light pruning involves carefully removing the outermost layer of flowers, buds, and foliage to promote new growth. It is important to avoid pruning too much at once, as this can damage the plant. Aim for removing no more than 1-third of the plant's foliage each time. Additionally, it is a good idea to fertilize Triteleia 'Rudy' post-pruning, to support new growth.
