However, it is best to keep it out of the hottest hours of afternoon sunlight when it can reach temperatures of over 95 degrees Fahrenheit. During the winter, provide about 4 hours of sunlight and in the summer, extend the sunlight to 6-8 hours. Sunlight also helps enhance the colors of the foliage on this plant.

Speedwell (Veronica 'Hocus Pocus') should be pruned twice a year. Once in the late spring and once in mid-summer. In late spring, prune away any weak or dead material. Allowing for plenty of air circulation. In mid-summer, trim back any excessive growth. This will help to encourage new blooming growth and help to keep the plant healthy. When pruning, avoid removing more than 1/3 of the growth. Additionally, avoid using pruners that have cut other diseased material, as this could spread the disease to your speedwell plant.
