watering
Spike speedwell should be watered once a week to 10 days, using enough water to keep the soil moist but not soaked. During hot weather, they may need additional water. Never allow the plant to sit in water. If you are using a tray to catch water drainage, empty it out after 20 minutes or so. Check the soil twice a week to make sure it is not too dry. Spike speedwell does not like to have overly wet roots.
sunlight
Spike speedwell (Veronica 'Spike') grows best in full sun, which means that it should receive 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day. However, it can also tolerate partial shade, such as a few hours of morning sun and afternoon shade. If in an area that receives more shade than sun, try to give it the best light you can for at least 4-6 hours daily.
pruning
When pruning your Veronica 'Spike' plant, you should do so twice a year. Prune it at the start of spring and again in late summer. When pruning, you should aim to remove any dead, diseased, or damaged foliage, as well as any long, thin stems. This will help to encourage new, healthy growth. You should also pinch back any long shoots to encourage it to remain bushy. When pruning your Veronica 'Spike', use shapes pruners and avoid cutting too much or too little. If you trim too much, you may cut away too many branches and leaves, resulting in an unbalanced look to your plant. On the other hand, if you cut too little, your plant may become overgrown and overcrowded.
