Possumhaw viburnum

For the Possumhaw viburnum (Viburnum nudum 'Bulk' BRANDYWINE) a good rule of thumb for watering is to keep the soil consistently moist, but not soggy. Water deeply once a week during the warmer months and every other week during the cooler months. Soak the entire root zone and allow the soil to dry out slightly between watering. Adding a layer of organic mulch like bark chips, pine needles or wood chips will help conserve moisture in the soil.

Possumhaw viburnum (Viburnum nudum 'Bulk' BRANDYWINE) need full sun or partial shade - 4 to 6 hours of direct sunlight per day is ideal for optimum flowering. For best results, provide a spot that gets full to partial morning sun and partial afternoon shade. While it will tolerate more shade, expect fewer blooms in the shadier areas. If plants become too large, then heavier pruning can be done in late winter. Remove unruly branches and thin plant by about 1-third of its size all the way around. This will produce strong and shapely plants with better flowering and fruiting.
