Water the plant when the top layer of soil dries out to the touch, typically once every 7 to 10 days. In the hotter months, you may need to water twice a week. Always ensure soil is evenly moist but not soggy, as Stromanthes are prone to root rot. When you do water, give your plant an adequate amount of water so that the entire soil gets dampened - approximately a teacup's worth of water is sufficient.

A windowsill that receives sun for most of the day would be an ideal spot to keep a Stromanthe sanguinea.
