Plants exposed to more sunlight may bloom longer and with a higher rate of success. They may also produce better colors in their flowers. It is best to provide as much sunlight to Osteospermum plants as possible throughout the day in well-lit regions. If possible, provide shade in the afternoon to reduce the harsh impacts of the sun if necessary.

Osteospermum cvs. should be pruned in late winter to early spring. Pruning should be minimal and should only involve removing any dead, diseased, or damaged stems from the plant. If the plant becomes leggy, prune it back lightly to encourage branching. Avoid pruning the plant heavily and keep the shape of the plant natural. Light pruning of the flowers after they have died off will also promote flowering again later in the season.
