The larkspur (Delphinium (Belladonna Group) 'Casablanca') should be watered regularly, at least once a week. When watering, make sure to fully drench the soil until water begins to drain from the bottom of the pot. During the summer months, you may need to water more frequently to keep the soil moist. During winter, the plant needs less water, so only water when the top of the soil is dry. As a general rule, water in the morning or early evening when temperatures are cooler and evaporation is minimized.

Larkspur (Delphinium (Belladonna Group) 'Casablanca') plants prefer a sunny location to thrive. They should receive at least 5 to 6 hours of full sun per day—preferably in the mornings, when it is less intense. When temperatures become too hot during the day, larkspurs need some dappled shade at midday to prevent wilting. Too much direct sun in warm afternoon temperatures can cause scorching of the foliage. As close to full sun as possible is ideal.

It is best to prune larkspur (Delphinium (Belladonna Group) 'Casablanca') in early spring or late winter before new growth begins. Carefully remove any winter-killed stems and then cut the plants back by a third to a half their height. This promotes branching, prevents floppy heads and eliminates weak, spindly stems. Deadheading the spent flowers throughout the summer will also help promote bushier plants with more flowers.
