Tetraploid daylily (Hemerocallis 'Arabian Magic') should be watered on a regular basis. Depending on the climate and soil drainage, it can require watering once or twice a week. During the warmer months, if the soil is dry about 2 inches below the surface, water it deeply to saturate the soil and allow the excess to drain away. In cooler months, water lightly and less often. Don't overwater, as daylilies can easily develop root rot. It is best to water at the base of the daylily early in the morning to give the soil a chance to dry and reduce the chance of fungal disease.

Tetraploid daylily (Hemerocallis 'Arabian Magic') will perform best when grown in a sunny area. This plant prefers at least 6 hours of sunlight per day and can tolerate up to 8 hours of direct sunlight. It will thrive in full sun, or in partial shade if the area receives a minimum of 4 hours of direct sunlight. This plant prefers the cooler temperatures of morning sun and afternoon shade during the height of summer.

Tetraploid daylilies, such as 'Arabian Magic', benefit from periodic pruning. The best time to do this is in late winter or early spring, before the plant breaks dormancy and begins to grow. To get the best results, prune dead foliage back to the ground and remove any dead or diseased flower stems. Then trim the foliage and stems back to about 3-4 inches, making sure to remove any crossing or interfering stems. Finally, deadhead (or cut) spent flowers as soon as possible to encourage repeat blooms. Pruning can be done more often if necessary, however, it is important to leave plenty of healthy stems and foliage on the plant for nourishment and protection.
