Daylilies require weekly watering and prefer moist soil. During the growing season (April through October), water the plants whenever the top few inches of soil are dry. During the winter months (November through March), reduce watering to once every 2 weeks or when the soil feels dry. When watering, fully saturate the soil until water begins to run off from the containers. Do not allow the plants to sit in water. Daylilies may also benefit from an occasional misting with water during hot and dry weather.

Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Thousand Voices') requires full sun for at least 4 to 6 hours daily, but prefers an average of 6 to 8 hours of direct, unfiltered light each day to produce the best flowers. The plant will tolerate partial sun and light shade, however, it is important to note that this plant needs full sun to absorb enough energy to grow and produce quality blooms. Additionally, it is beneficial to provide some shade during the hottest part of the day.

Daylilies (Hemerocallis 'Thousand Voices') should be pruned in early spring, around the first signs of new growth. Pruning should be focused on removing dead, damaged or disease leaves and stems, as well as any flowers that are beginning to die off. Gently trim off stems to the ground level – do not pull them out. It is important to cut off enough of the foliage to reach the new growth and stimulate vigorous growth. It is essential to avoid over-pruning as it will ruin the plant’s silhouette and shape. This species of daylilies blooms in midseason, so to maximize flowering potential, stop pruning after the end of June.
