watering

The lungwort plant will require regular watering during growth in early spring. Water well from April to October, allowing the top few inches of soil to dry between waterings. In winter, reduce the amount of water given as the plants require a dry rest period. For best results, water Lungwort with approximately 1 inch of water per week. Avoid splashing the leaves as this can cause spotting and fungal problems.

sunlight

Lungwort prefers partial to full shade, so it needs less direct sunlight than other plant species. The best amount of sunlight for it is about 4 hours a day, and it should be placed in an east-facing or north-facing area for this amount of light. If you live in a hotter, drier climate, it should receive protection from direct afternoon sunlight. Its foliage will burn if the sunlight is too intense. If the plant is in full sun, reduce its sunlight exposure to 2-3 hours a day.

pruning

Lungwort should be pruned in early spring, before new growth begins. Depending on the size and shape of your plant, you may need to prune it back significantly. By removing dead and diseased foliage, as well as any weak branches, you can help encourage the new growth. You should also cut any flower stalks to just above the first pair of leaves. This will help to keep the plant tidy and promote better flowering in the summer. When pruning, aim to remove no more than 1-third of the plant material at a time.
