Water at least twice weekly during the warmer months and weekly in the fall, adjusting the watering cycle depending on the weather. If the soil has dried out and looks wilted, it may need more water. Water at the base of the plant, never on the leaves or fruit.

When pruning hardy kiwi, the ideal time to prune is in late winter to early spring, before the plant begins to come out of dormancy. Depending on how much the plant has grown, it may be necessary to prune it each year for 3 to 5 years until it's established.
