watering

Wax Plant 'Hoya Carnosa' should be watered approximately every 7-10 days. Water thoroughly when the soil is dry to the touch, but be sure to not over water. Water until the excess comes out of the drainage holes at the bottom of the pot. During the winter months, allow the soil to dry out more between watering.

sunlight

The Wax Plant 'Hoya Carnosa' requires bright indirect sunlight for optimal growth. This plant species thrives when it receives at least 4-6 hours of direct sunlight a day. It is best to provide the Wax Plant with bright light for the majority of the day and then reduce the intensity in the late afternoon to prevent stress from too much direct light.

pruning

Wax Plant 'Hoya Carnosa' should be pruned throughout the growing season to encourage dense, bushy growth. Pruning should be done by removing any dead, damaged or overly long stems. Prune stems back to desired shape, removing just above a node (where the leaves grow). Pruning should be done in spring and summer, when the plant is actively growing. Pruning in autumn and winter should be avoided, as the plant is not actively growing in these seasons.
