Hosta ventricosa 'Aureomaculata' should be watered regularly and deeply. Aim to water once every 2-4 days during hotter months and once a week during cooler months. Pruning should consist of removing dead, damaged, or diseased foliage, as well as cutting back spindly shoots. Cut back spindly shoots to just above a side shoot, taking off no more than 1/3 of the total shoot. Prune off any leaves that are already discolored due to sun damage. Finally, prune off any flowers that have already bloomed, as this will help to encourage additional blooms later in the season.
