watering

Silver Ragwort should be watered with 1 inch of water per 2-3 weeks. Water needs to be applied to the soil consistently, but not too often. To avoid overwatering, make sure the soil is dry to the touch before applying additional water. It can tolerate drought, but will perform better with regular and consistent watering during the warmer months. Make sure the water drains away from the base of the plant. Avoid splashing water onto the leaves of the plant as this can lead to fungal diseases.

sunlight

Silver ragwort thrives best in full sunlight and should receive at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day. It can also tolerate relatively short periods of partial shade, especially during times of extreme heat. Ideally, direct sunlight should be during the mid-morning and mid-afternoon hours in order to allow the soil to dry out between waterings. Silver ragwort should not be placed in direct, hot afternoon sunlight as this can cause the foliage to sunburn.

pruning

Silver ragwort should be pruned 1 to 2 times each season, typically in the spring and late summer. Pruning in spring encourages bushy growth, while pruning in late summer helps control the shape and size of the plant. When pruning, it is best to trim back all shoots to the ground or to just above a lateral bud. Doing so will help the silver ragwort remain low to the ground, and promote a denser foliage. When pruning in late summer, ensure no flower buds are removed, as this could result in a weaker flowering display.
