watering

Asiatic lilies need plenty of water for prolific blooms. Water your lilies deeply once a week. The best time to do this is early in the morning, so that the Sun can evaporate the excess water. Applying too much water can lead to root rot, so it's important to mind the moisture level in the soil. In the peak of summer, you may need to water more often. When the weather starts to cool in the fall, your Asiatic lilies will not need as frequent watering.

sunlight

Asiatic lily (Lilium 'Dreamland') grows best in full sun or partial shade. Plants should receive at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily for optimum flowering. For maximum bloom potential, they should have at least 8 hours of full sun a day. The best time of the day for sun exposure is from mid-morning to early afternoon.

pruning

Asiatic lilies, like many flowering plants, benefit from regular pruning. To keep them looking their best, prune them after flowering. Cut off all of the dead blooms, and then cut the stems back to approximately 6 inches. This encourages the plant to bush out and produce more flowers in future seasons. Additionally, trim off any weak, damaged or diseased stems anytime throughout the year. Do not over prune, as this can weaken or damage the plant.
