watering
For Oriental Lilies, water thoroughly weekly and make sure the soil does not dry out between waterings. During the hottest months of summer, water more frequently, approximately every 4-5 days. During cooler periods, you may be able to water your plant as little as every 10-14 days. Make sure to always check the soil for moisture before you water, as the frequency of watering can also depend on the season and the amount of sunlight the plants receive.
sunlight
Oriental lilies prefer 6 to 8 hours of full sun each day during the spring and summer months. This type of lily flowering best when planted in a sunny area with well-drained soil that has plenty of organic matter. Giving them too much sun can lead to damage to the foliage, flowers, and stems. The lilies should receive at least 4 to 6 hours of direct sunlight daily during the spring and summer, with partial shade during the hottest part of the day or dappled shade in the afternoon. They can also tolerate morning sun better than afternoon sun, so ideally the Paramount Lily should receive direct sun in the morning and some sort of shade during the hottest time of the day.
pruning
The optimal time to prune oriental lilies is when the flowers have finished blooming. Make sure to remove all dead, wilted, and discolored foliage. If the plant shows signs of disease or pest infestation, prune it back to healthy foliage. To keep your lily looking its best, remove at least a third of the stems each year, cutting them back to the ground. Avoid making thinning cuts into the foliage; instead, prune off entire stems. Repeat pruning once a year in spring or early summer. This will encourage new growth and promote healthier plants.
