Smooth phlox should be watered deeply once per week during the growing season (spring to mid-fall). In the winter months when the plant is dormant, it is important to reduce the watering frequency to once every few weeks. During extended periods of drought, you may need to water your smooth phlox more often.

Smooth phlox (Phlox glaberrima var. triflora ‘Forever Pink’) is a plant species that thrives best in full sun. It should receive at least 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight every day, and preferably in the morning or late afternoon when the sun’s rays are not as harsh. When planted in partly shaded areas, the growth and flower production of the phlox will be significantly reduced.

Smooth Phlox (Phlox glaberrima var. triflora 'Forever Pink') plants should be pruned in the late winter or early spring, before the new plants start to grow. Pruning can involve trimming back spent and damaged stems, removing dead foliage, or shearing the overall plant back.
