Boulevard false cypress

Boulevard false cypress thrives best with regular watering and even soil moisture. Aim to water slowly, deeply, and infrequently. During the growing season, water once or twice per week, letting the soil dry out 2–3 inches deep between each watering. In winter months, reduce watering frequency. Watering once a month is usually sufficient. Check the top inch of soil with your finger or a soil moisture meter to ensure it is slightly moist. If the soil is too wet, wait a few days before watering again.

Boulevard false cypress is best suited to receive 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight per day. This plant prefers full sun, so it's important to monitor the amount of sunlight it receives as too much sun can cause it to become desiccated. It is best to provide around 4 hours of direct sunlight in the morning and 4 hours in the afternoon for optimal growth. This plant does not do well in extreme heat and direct afternoon sunlight should be avoided in the hottest months of the year.

Boulevard false cypress should be pruned during the late spring, after new growth begins. Pruning should focus on removing any unhealthy, dead, or unwanted branches and twigs. After pruning, it should also be monitored for new growth, as some types of false cypress may grow excessively if left unchecked. Care should be taken to avoid pruning off too much of the foliage. If too much is taken off, it can damage the plant, leading to a decrease in its health. Generally, it is best to only prune back a few inches at a time, so that the overall size and shape of the boulevard false cypress is maintained.
