Nefer fescue

Nefer fescue should be watered moderately and consistently. During the growing season, provide water once or twice a week, allowing the top inch of soil to dry before watering again. In the hottest months, this may increase to every other day. When the weather is cooler, watering can be reduced to 1 to 2 times a month. When watering, make sure to water deeply to encourage deep root growth. In the winter months, reduce watering to monthly or as needed if the soil looks dry.

Nefer fescue (Festuca valesiaca 'Nefer') benefits from about 6 to 8 hours of sunlight a day. The majority of this sun should occur during the spring and summer seasons when the sun is higher in the sky. When Nefer fescue is exposed to too much direct sunlight, the foliage can become scorched. During the summer months, the sun's intensity can be especially intense, so some morning shade may be beneficial. During the winter, sunny days may provide the essential light needed for photosynthesis.

Nefer fescue (Festuca valesiaca 'Nefer') should be lightly pruned once a year in the late winter/early spring, after the worst of the cold weather has passed. To prune, simply remove the flowers once they've gone to seed or the broken foliage and dead stems. Avoid cutting off any healthy, living stems. Doing this will promote healthier growth of the plant, make for a tidy appearance, and even extend its lifespan. However, don't be too aggressive with the pruning; too much pruning may result in less dense foliage.
