The Kentucky coffee tree requires moderate watering. Water deeply about once per week during the outdoor growing season, providing approximately 1 to 1.5 inches of water for each irrigation. During periods of extremely hot or dry weather, the frequency should be increased to twice a week. It is important to avoid over-watering, as the Kentucky coffee tree is susceptible to root rot and fungus. Reduce the frequency of waterings throughout the winter months when the plant is dormant.
