Campanule Gantelée

Campanule Gantelée does best when watered regularly and deeply with cool (not cold) water. During its active growth period (spring through summer), it should be watered twice per week, allowing the soil to dry out between watering. Again, water deeply in order to keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. During its dormancy period (winter), water once or twice per month, as needed. Monitor the soil to ensure that it is not drying out completely. Generally, keeping the soil lightly moist is best.

Campanule Gantelée (Campanula trachelium subsp. trachelium) prefers to be in an area with partial shade or full sun and should receive at least 4 hours of direct sunlight per day in order for it to grow and thrive. It is best to place it in the morning sunlight and avoid intense afternoon sunlight. In the winter, it is OK to give Campanule Gantelée a bit less direct sunlight as long as the plant is kept away from drafts.

Campanule Gantelée (Campanula trachelium subsp. trachelium) should be pruned at the end of the flowering season in late summer. It is best to cut the stem back to the basal rosette, as this will encourage new and lush growth for the following growing season. Make sure to use sterile secateurs when pruning to avoid the spread of disease. Pruning can be done more severely every 3-4 years to encourage bushier growth and bolster flowering.
