watering

Asiatic lilies (Lilium 'Renoir') require regular watering. Start by keeping the soil consistently moist and watering deep and slowly. Water until the soil is completely saturated and then do not water again until the soil feels dry to the touch. In general, water once every 3-4 days in spring and summer, allowing the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. During the fall and winter season, reduce watering to once a week. If the weather is unusually cold or dry, water even less frequently. Asiatic lilies are susceptible to overwatering and root rot, so don't overdo it!

sunlight

Asiatic lilies need at least 6 to 8 hours of sunlight per day to produce their beautiful blooms. A position in full sun is preferred however in the warmer parts of the country they can benefit from a little dappled shade during afternoons in the summer. Asiatic lilies will do best in an environment with bright light or direct sunlight for the majority of the day. It is preferred that the sun exposure for these plants starts around daybreak and ends around early evening to get the perfect balance between direct and indirect light.

pruning

Asiatic lilies (Lilium 'Renoir') should be pruned in early spring or early summer. Pruning should consist of removing spent flower stems near the base of the plant as well as cutting away any yellowing foliage. Asiatic lilies can also be divided in spring or early summer if desired. The root ball should be split into sections and each section replanted. Pruning and dividing should be done with sharp scissors or clippers to ensure that a clean cut is made.
