watering

Small-Seed False-Flax should be watered once every week, using approximately 1-2 inches of water. Ensure that the soil is moist but not soaking wet to promote optimal growth and flowering of the plant. Additionally, it is important to water the plant from the bottom up, as opposed to from the top down. This will help prevent damage to the foliage and flowers. It is also important to water at the base of the plant, avoiding any of the stems as much as possible. Doing so will help prevent the spread of disease or pests.

sunlight

Small-Seed False-Flax (Camelina microcarpa) is a fast-growing ample plant species that thrives best in full sunlight. In terms of how much sunlight, it should receive a minimum of 6-8 hours per day. For best results, it requires up to 12 hours of daily direct sunlight. This species should receive adequate sunlight for optimal growth throughout the entire year, however in late winter, it is best to reduce the amount of direct sunlight it is exposed to, in order to prevent the premature fading of flowers.

pruning

Small-Seed False-Flax should be pruned in early spring before new growth begins. Prune 1/3 to 1/2 of the stems down to the ground for the most vigorous new growth. Remove dead branches and any branches that are crossing or competing with each other. Prune any stems that may be damaged due to winter weather. After pruning, fertilize the plant to help with new growth.
