Slender Woodland Sedge

Slender Woodland Sedge should be watered 2 to 3 times per week. Water should be applied until the soil becomes saturated. Allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. During hotter weather, more frequent watering may be needed to keep the soil moist. During the winter, water should only be applied every 2 to 3 weeks.

Slender Woodland Sedge (Carex digitalis) is an ideal plant for shady spots since it prefers filtered or dappled sunlight. It prefers morning sun and mid-afternoon shade. This species does not tolerate intense, direct sunlight for a long period of time as it will burn the foliage. For best results, plant Slender Woodland Sedge in areas that receive direct sunlight for no more than 3 to 4 hours each day.

Slender Woodland Sedge (Carex digitalis) can be pruned in late spring when new growth begins. Cut off any dead, diseased or unwanted growth to maintain the desired shape and size of the plant.
