Meadowsweet (Filipendula 'Kahome') should be watered regularly throughout the growing season when soil becomes dry to the touch. Water deeply around the plant and allow the top few inches of soil to dry out before watering again. In periods of high temperatures or prolonged dry periods, water more often to keep the soil evenly moist. This plant requires supplemental irrigation in hot and dry climates, so aim to saturate the root ball approximately once a week. During winter, water only when the soil begins to dry out.

Meadowsweet (Filipendula 'Kahome') is a deciduous perennial plant that thrives in areas that receive full sun throughout the day. In order to fully thrive, the plant should receive at least 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight each day and should preferably be located in a sunny location with little to no shade. Morning sunlight is the best for photosynthesis. A location with more morning sun may be beneficial, depending on the amount of sun exposure the plant gets throughout the day. If the plants are located in a very shaded area, the plant should receive additional partial shade throughout the day.

Meadowsweet (Filipendula 'Kahome') should be pruned in late winter or early spring to remove crossing and dead branches. Depending on the size and purpose of the plant, a light trimming can be done to shape and maintain a more compact size. If the meadowsweet is grown for a formal hedgerow, it may be necessary to prune more regularly, once or even twice a year. When pruning meadowsweet, make sure to avoid cutting inside the buds of the stem. Doing so will ensure the plant continues to produce flowers.
