Yukon Stitchwort

Yukon Stitchwort should be watered thoroughly once a week in the growing season. During hot days, or when the soil is dry, it may need to be watered more frequently. The soil surrounding it should remain moist but not soggy. In cold winter months, not much or no watering is necessary. If it is in a pot, it should have good drainage and should be watered occasionally to prevent the soil from drying out completely.

Yukon Stitchwort is a plant species native to Yukon, Canada. This plant thrives in high-light locations and requires plenty of light. In ideal conditions, the Yukon Stitchwort should receive at least 8 hours of sunlight each day and can tolerate up to 10 hours of direct sunlight per day. During the summer months, when the sun is the strongest, full sun exposure between the hours of 10 am and 6 pm is recommended. In the spring and fall, when the sun is not as strong, partial sun exposure of around 5 to 6 hours will suffice. During the winter months, the plant should receive around 2 to 3 hours of direct sunlight each day and be sheltered from harsh winds.

Yukon Stitchwort (Cherleria yukonensis) is a native perennial plant that is typically found in mountain meadows and forest openings in the Yukon area. Pruning is not necessary for the health of this species, however if it is desired for aesthetic purposes or to maintain its size, pruning can be done lightly in the spring. It should be pruned before the plant begins to flower, and no more than a third of the plant should be removed. After pruning, it should be fertilized and watered accordingly.
