Silver-dollar gum should be watered regularly but not over-watered. During the active growth period, water once a week with about 2-3 gallons of water and a light application of fertilizer. After the active growth period, reduce the watering frequency to once every 2 weeks. During the winter months, watering should be reduced even further, to once every month. Silver-dollar gum should only be watered when the top inch of soil is dry.

Silver-dollar gum (Eucalyptus perriniana) is a species of eucalyptus tree native to southeastern Australia. It can be found in open woodland and grasslands, as well as in cliff-top positions and along roadsides. The species requires plenty of sunlight in order to grow and thrive. Silver-dollar gum should receive at least 8-10 hours of direct sunlight per day. Morning sunlight is ideal, because it helps the tree start the day off with some warming and energizing energy. During the hottest parts of the day, shade should be provided to help the tree avoid overheating. Ideally, this species should be planted in an area with plenty of access to direct sunlight for most of the day.

Silver-dollar gum should be pruned in late winter or early spring. Pruning should only occur on plants that are at least 2 to 3 years old. Prune off dead or damaged branches and any stems that have grown too tall. Remove no more than 1-third of the total canopy, and avoid cutting the main stem or large branches. Take care to ensure that foliage is evenly distributed around the plant.
