Hellebore plants should be watered every 7-10 days depending on their environment. If they are planted in a dry, hot, or windy area, they may need to be watered more often. Keep the soil evenly moist but not wet or saturated.

Hellebore (Helleborus hybridus 'White Lady') prefers part to full shade, and well-draining soil that remains consistently moist. During the spring and summer, this plant should receive between 3 to 6 hours of sunlight per day, while during the fall and winter, it should receive only 1 to 2 hours of sunlight per day. Direct sunlight should be avoided at all times, as this may cause the leaves to scorch.

Hellebore should be lightly pruned in the spring after the flowers have started to fade. This will help to keep the plant healthy and maintain it's shape throughout the year. Remove any dead, diseased or damaged stems, and any stems that are growing outside of their designated area. In the spring, you can also remove any spent flower heads which will help to prevent the spread of disease. While it is important to prune in the spring, you should avoid doing so too aggressively. Too much pruning can slow the growth of the plant and reduce the amount of blooms each year. Keep the pruning limited to only the necessary cuts and be sure to not cut back into the green stems or branches.
