Heuchera 'Lime Marmalade'

Coral bells (Heuchera 'Lime Marmalade') is an evergreen perennial plant that has a compact blotch of dark green mottled foliage that is topped in the spring with bright orange-yellow bell-shaped flowers for a punch of colour. Blooms of coral bells come in a variety of colours, but the 'Lime Marmalade' variety has a unique combination of deep lime green and bright yellow. Blooms last all summer and give the plant a quaint appeal tucked into a shady garden bed.

watering

Coral bells (Heuchera 'Lime Marmalade') should be watered deeply and infrequently, about every 7-10 days during the active growing season (spring and summer). The roots of the plant need to be kept evenly moist but not saturated. In order for the soil to become saturated, a thorough deep watering is required each time. Generally, the amount of water you should use per session should be 1-2 inches per 7-10 days. In the fall and winter months, when the plant goes into a dormant state, the frequency should be reduced to about every 3-4 weeks.

sunlight

Coral bells (Heuchera 'Lime Marmalade') are a shade-loving plant species ideally suited to bright, indirect light from the sun. While some species may be able to tolerate direct sunlight in the morning or late afternoon hours, it is best to avoid exposing this particular cultivar to more than a few hours of direct sunlight each day. In most cases, coral bells should receive around 4 to 6 hours of bright, indirect light from the sun in order to thrive.

pruning

Coral bells (Heuchera 'Lime Marmalade') should be pruned each spring shortly after the new growth appears. Pruning should remove no more than 1 third of the existing foliage. This will encourage new growth and encourage a full plant form. It is beneficial to prune off any dead foliage and trim up any overly-long stems. Removing any flower stems that have gone through winter will also help to prolong flowering in the summer months. Doing this pruning on an annual basis will help maintain the coral bell's shape and size, while aiding it to remain healthy and promote further flowering.
