watering

Lavender (Lavandula 'Silver Frost') should be watered when the top inch of soil feels dry. Water the plant deeply, but be sure not to soak the soil as it does not do well with too much moisture. Water the plant about once a week during the active growing season, and only water as needed during the winter.

sunlight

Lavender (Lavandula 'Silver Frost') thrives best in full sun with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight each day. For optimal flower and herb production, this plant species should receive 7 to 8 hours of direct sun each day. Since Silver Frost Lavender is a Mediterranean plant, it will do best when exposed to sunlight during the early morning hours and hot, direct sunlight during the afternoon. It's important to note that too much direct sunlight and heat can cause stressed out or wilted plants, so be sure to give your Lavender plants some relief from the sun's harsh rays if it is too intense.

pruning

Lavender (Lavandula 'Silver Frost') should be pruned in the early spring before new growth appears. To keep the plants healthy, prune back about 2/3 of last year's growth. Remove any dead or diseased foliage as you prune. Cutting the plants right above a set of leaves will ensure that the plant produces new, strong growth. Doing this will also help to keep the shape of the plant full and will encourage more blooms.
