watering
Peace lilies (Spathiphyllum cvs.) should be watered when the top inch of soil is dry to the touch. The amount of water depends on the size of the pot - use 1 cup of water for pots up to 10 inches in diameter, and increase the amount of water proportionately for larger pots. Water thoroughly and allow the soil to drain before returning the pot to its place. It is best to use lukewarm water if possible. The peace lily should only be watered once every 7 to 10 days. In the summer, you may need to water it once every 5 to 7 days. During the winter, the water requirement usually decreases, so the lily should be watered every 10 to 14 days. Always check the top inch of soil before watering - if you frequently water a peace lily when the soil is already moist, the roots may start to rot and this may cause the plant to die.
sunlight
Peace lilies need a bright, indirect light source in order to thrive. A peace lily located in a north- or east-facing window would receive the right amount of sunlight. If the peace lily is in a south-facing window, it should be moved so as not to get too much light. During the growing season, about 12-14 hours of bright, indirect sunlight per day is ideal for a peace lily. During the winter months, about 8-10 hours of indirect sunlight is enough.
pruning
Peace lilies (Spathiphyllum cvs.) should be pruned regularly to help keep them looking their best. Generally, they should be pruned about once a month during the growing season, which typically runs from late spring to mid-summer. When pruning a peace lily, remove any yellowed or wilted leaves and foliage. You can also trim back the leaves to keep the plant compact and manageable. Additionally, you should also pinch off any dead flowers or buds to promote new growth and blooms. Finally, if the plant looks overgrown, trim some of the stems and foliage to reduce its size and to encourage new shoots.
