Cormlet Propagation

Cormlet propagation refers to the process of using cormlets for production. Cormlets are small bulb-like structures produced by certain plants.

Step 1 - The process of cormlet propagation begins by harvesting mature corms from the parent plants. These corms should be healthy and have developed cormlets.

Step 2 - Carefully separate the cormlets from the parent corm without damaging the cormlets or their basal plates.

Step 3 - Fill a clean container or pot with a suitable soil mix. This can be a well-drained soil mix or a soilless medium, depending on the specific plant's requirements.

Step 4 - Place the cormlets in the soil, ensuring that their basal plates are facing downward and the rounded or oval part is facing upward. Cover the cormlets with a layer of soil, leaving the top exposed.

Step 5 - Water the planted cormlets gently to ensure the planting medium remains evenly moist. Place the container in a suitable location with the right amount of light and temperature for the specific plant species. Regularly monitor and provide care such as watering and fertilizing, following the plant's specific needs.

Step 6 - Over time, the cormlets will develop roots and shoots, growing into new individual plants. Monitor their growth and development, ensuring they receive proper care to support their health and vigor.
