watering

Lungwort, or Pulmonaria 'Moonshine', should be watered in moderation. During the active growth season, which usually runs from late spring to mid-fall, water about once a week, but let the soil dry slightly in between waterings. If conditions are hot and dry, water more often. In colder months, when the plant is dormant, water less often, about once every 2 weeks or so. Make sure to avoid overwatering, as this could cause the plant to suffer from root rot.

sunlight

Lungwort (Pulmonaria 'Moonshine') flourishes in partial shade, meaning that they grow best in a partly shaded environment. They need between 2 and 5 hours of sunlight each day, ideally early morning sunlight, to maintain their healthy growth. Too much sun can cause leaf discoloration and drying out. While some species can tolerate full sun, 'Moonshine' is best suited to partially shaded areas such as gardens shaded by trees or the north side of a building.

pruning

Lungwort (Pulmonaria 'Moonshine') benefits from pruning to promote vigorous new growth and to maintain a healthy and attractive form. Pruning should be done in early spring before new growth appears and again lightly in late summer after flowering. Pruning back stems by 1-third helps keep the plant tidy and limits overcrowding. Be sure to remove any dead, discolored, or diseased stems.
